Public Access Policy

Generally, forests under Forest360 management are closed to public access. However, in certain circumstances public access maybe be granted for recreational purposes such as hunting, hiking, mountain biking providing it does not conflict with or compromise its core business activities and is safe for the public to do so.

All public access into Forest360 managed forests is controlled through a forest permit system.

Note:

• The terms and conditions of any permit must be followed at all times, failure to do so will result in cancelation of the permit & trespass from the forest.
• Permits will not be issued to anyone trespassed or in receipt of a warning from Forest360 Limited.
• Due to safety and commercial reasons, permits are not issued to the general public for firewood.

Easements & Right of Ways

Where any Forest360 managed forests contain easements or right of ways that provide public access across other land areas such as DoC Forest Parks or Rivers for fishing, people can travel on these without acquiring a permit, but they must abide by the conditions and Forest360s’ risk management measures:

• The purpose of the easements is to provide access to other land – no stopping on the easements is permitted.
• No access during hours of darkness
• No Hunting without a valid permit
• Easements may be closed for risk reasons (i.e. fire danger, safety). Please respect any closures, which will be notified by forest signage
• NZ Road Code rules apply
• Non-compliance may result in trespass or legal action
